“It’s for swimmers who are 25 years of age and over,” said Head Coach Alford Green, whose team trains at the new pool at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. “We are very excited to be a part of this swimming meet and the great thing is it’s within driving distance for us.”
Wammies Catherine Dickson, Gail Holland, Paul Arsenault, and Ben Hammond will all participate throughout competition scheduled for Aug. 3rd through Aug. 10th. The meet will have 7,794 Masters swimmers representing 101 nations. “In their events, all of our swimmers are ranked within the top 3 of the New England contingent. They have put in the work and are looking extremely well in the pool. It is just for them to go out there and execute what we have been practicing. It really is a big deal, and an honor to represent the United States in this big swimming event. We are all rooting for them!” says Green.
The competition will begin with Opening Ceremonies in Montreal on Saturday Aug. 2nd.
